Nature Retreats & Concert Tours

Next Stop: Greece and Italy

For more than two decades, Kairos singers have carried their voices far beyond Berkeley. Our choir has toured internationally in 2000, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2023, performing in Greece, Italy, Austria, and beyond. In 2023, Kairos earned double bronze medals at the International Choral Festival of Preveza in Greece.

Touring is one of the most meaningful experiences a young singer can have. Choristers perform in historic churches and concert halls, sing alongside choirs from other countries, and discover new places, food, and cultures together. They come home more confident as musicians and closer as friends.

Next summer, Kairos returns to Greece and Italy for our next international tour. Tour plans are shared with families at the start of each season. If you’d like to help a singer make the trip, consider sponsoring a chorister through our scholarship fund.

Nature Retreats: A Kairos Staple

For over twenty years, Kairos has offered spring retreats and summer camps at the beloved River’s Bend Retreat, formerly known as Wellspring Renewal Center. This special site provides a life-changing experience for choir members. Daily rehearsals surrounded by nature, swimming in the Navarro River, working in the organic garden, and evenings nestled in cozy cabins are just a few of the exciting features Kairos Choir retreats offer our singers.

All choristers who participate in the year round program are eligible for participation in this program. Parent chaperones are chosen from the choir community to assist our youngest members with the sleep away experience. These events usually culminate with a famous Kairos Cabaret – a variety show produced by all members of the choir community.
